What science-related things do you recognize in this woman's hair?

ENGLISH:

We have watched a new video about a Spanish industrial engineer tellin her experience as a student and as a worker in a company. Kids have prepared questions to her to be answered by herself next week.

Our assisstent Gabi has also prepared a presentation about her own experience studying a scientifical career.

Study irregular verbs from "to be" to "learn". Monday 14th test!

NATURAL SCIENCE:

End of the "Levels of Organization of living things" in the biosphere in the classroom.

Study from page 46 to 51 at home!

INSPIRATIONAL VIDEO ABOUT WOMEN IN SCIENCE:

lunes, 7 de febrero de 2022

ENGLISH:

1) We have analysed this line graph about the amount of men and women working as scientific researchers answering questions as:

- What does the line graph show?

It shows how the number of men and women working as researchers.

- What is the difference between the blue and the orange line? Why are they different?

The blue line corresponds to women and the orange one to men. The blue line decreases as long as women start having family responsabilities in their lives among other factors as gender discrimination. The consequence is that there are lees female scientific researchers.

2) A video to think 💬(slow down it in the )

Women in Science

3) Study irregular verbs from "to be" to "drive".

NATURAL SCIENCE:

1) We have seen again the different levels of organization of living things from individual to the biosphere:

Individual-population-community-habitat and ecosystem-biome-biosphere

See the picture below to understand it better:

2) Now do the same with a living thing you like: a microorganism, a flower, a tree, an insect, a type of fish or mammal... anything.

-Think about your living thing and represent it as an individual, as a population with its same spiece, as a community with other living things, in its ecosystem and habitat, the biome it uses to be in the world and the biosphere.

See the examples:

EXAMPLE 1

D. represented a clown fish as an individual, secondly as part of a population, thirdly as part of a community with other species, next in its habitat (swimming in corals and anemones) in an ocean ecosystem. He also drew the biome it belongs to in east of Asia and finally the biosphere. Good job D.!!  👏👏

EXAMPLE 2

C. worked about the levels of organization of living things with human beings.

She started drawing a woman, then she drew her in a population, then in a community with other living being (the dog) and in a city ecosystem living in a house as their habitat. In the biome level she drew the continents because there are human beings in almost every biome and finally the biosphere.

Goood C.!! 👏👏

BOYS AND GIRLS ENJOY YOUR TUESDAY 😉

SEE YOU TOMORROW

Seven women who shaped the world

Dear children,

Today Monday, February 7, we start a special week about women with scientific professions. Every day I will post an image related to this theme until February 11:

                         International Women´s Science Day.

ENGLISH:

1) Introductory video for the week:

International Day of Women and Science

2) Study irregular verbs from "to be" to "drive".

NATURAL SCIENCE:

We have seen again these concepts: what an ecosystem, biome and biosphere is.
1) See carefully the following two pictures pictures about levels of organization:

2) Watch this video to understand better about what a biome is:

3) Study from page 46 to 51.

HAVE A NICE MONDAY

4 days left for the Women´s Science day
