WEDNESDAY, 4th JUNE 2020

Hi everyone!

ENGLISH
1) Reported speech consists in saying what someone says. To do that we have to do changes as it follows: Pronouns, adverbs, expressions of time, verb tenses, etc.
Read the information below. If you find it difficult, just look at the examples to see how sentences change.

2) Play the following matching game. This is a different activity form those where you have to transform a sentence into a reported one. Here you will find on both sides of the screen already reported expressions: On the left “reported questions” and on the right “reported answers” to those questions.

3) Finish English today with these interactive activities:

Careful in the one that follows! Check your spelling and punctuation before you submit your answer:

NATURAL SCIENCE

I hope you are preparing your questionnaire for this Thursday. Today I want to clarify some problems sometimes I see you have:
- The zygote and the embryo:
The first is a cell resultant of fertilization. The zygote is produced in the Fallopian tube and little by little travels through it till the uterus.
The second is the evolution of the zygote that takes place when it attaches in the wall of the uterus. Once the zygote is there transforms into an embryo. The embryo, on the wall of the uterus, doesn’t have a human appearence but during the nine first weeks of pregnancy starts developing the head, the body, the arms and the spinal cord (médula espinal)
The embryo is considered fetus (feto) from the week 10 of pregnancy.

- The placenta:
It is an organ that has an important task during pregnancy because it is a tissue where the baby develops from being an embryo to a baby. It also allows the transference of nutrients and oxygen from the mother’s body to the baby through the umbilical cord.

If you have questions for me about this unit, write to my email.

ENGLISH

Last week you started learning how to report or how to rephrase what someone says.
You saw that you have to do some grammar changes to do it. Basically you have to change the subject and the verb tense but if there are other elements as a possessive or a time esxpression you have to change too.

1) Watch the following video to refresh your memory.  BUT STOP IT IN MINUTE 4!  It will start talking what you will see tomorrow 😁

REPORTED SPEECH VIDEO

2) Let´s continue refreshing our memory playing the next game:

REPORTED SPEECH GAME

3) Was the game too childish to you? Fine, maybe you prefer watchging this video.
As you watch the video, look at the examples of reported speech. They are in red in the subtitles.

REPORTED SPEECH VIDEO: Daisy´s summer job.

4) Now practice a little with three activities that are at the bottom of  the  web. You just have to scroll it down. I leave a screenshot below to help you find it .
