NATURAL SCIENCE

I hope you are preparing your questionnaire for this Thursday. Today I want to clarify some problems sometimes I see you have:
- The zygote and the embryo:
The first is a cell resultant of fertilization. The zygote is produced in the Fallopian tube and little by little travels through it till the uterus.
The second is the evolution of the zygote that takes place when it attaches in the wall of the uterus. Once the zygote is there transforms into an embryo. The embryo, on the wall of the uterus, doesn’t have a human appearence but during the nine first weeks of pregnancy starts developing the head, the body, the arms and the spinal cord (médula espinal)
The embryo is considered fetus (feto) from the week 10 of pregnancy.

- The placenta:
It is an organ that has an important task during pregnancy because it is a tissue where the baby develops from being an embryo to a baby. It also allows the transference of nutrients and oxygen from the mother’s body to the baby through the umbilical cord.

If you have questions for me about this unit, write to my email.
