ENGLISH:

Write a story about the next three pictures. You can use any of the tips I presented to you in the morning:

TIPS!!

- Click below for the ones you watched on the video (see till 1:10):

Tips for A2 Key for schools.

-You can use again the ones you used in your first story:

1) Find key vocabulary:

See the pictures and think on 3 or 4 words connected with each picture. This will help you to get some ideas.

2) Make a plan:

Stories have a beginning, a middle part and an ending. As there are three parts and three pictures, you can use the first image as the beginning, the second one as the middle and the third picture as the end.

  • Beginning: man got up and yawned, favourite pyjamas
  • Middle: was very hungry, opened the fridge, fridge empty, man was sad
  • End: had to go to a cafe, bought breakfast...

3) Write a draft: Stories are written in past and you have to give fluency to your text using link words or expressions as: first, second, one day, next, later, and, also, finally, at the end... and so on.

Check the spelling and the grammar when you finish!

4) Write your story for your teacher:

Once you feel confident about your story, rewrite in a clean paper.

NATURAL SCIENCE:

- Voluntary task for 5A group: A picture of a cnidarian, echinoderm, arthropod, porifera, a pine tree, a flowering plant, a fern.

CONDITIONAL SENTENCES IN ENGLISH:

Conditional sentences describe the result of a certain condition and we can divide them in two parts:

The "if clause" or condition and the "main clause" or the consequence of the condition.

Example:

If there´s no salt in the food, food is insipid.

if clause tell or condition            main clause or consequence

Both parts of the conditional sentence can change the order without changing the meaning.

For example:

Food is insipid if there´s no salt in the food.

There are various types of conditional sentences: Zero conditional, first, second and third conditional.

But don´t worry. This year you will learn just the Zero and the first conditionals.

1) THE ZERO CONDITIONAL IN ENGLISH:

We use the zero conditional to talk about things that are generally or always true. Things that occur in 100% of probability.

Both verbs in this type of conditional are in present simple.

2) THE FIRST CONDITIONAL IN ENGLISH

We use the first conditional when we talk about future situations we believe are realistic or possible.

I mean, situations that can occur in a 50% of probability.

In this type of conditional the "if clause" (condition) is in present simple and the "main clause" (the result) is in future with "will" or "going to".

WRITING STORIES IN ENGLISH

Writing a story in a language that is not yours requires preparation. It needs A PLAN

So here you are some tips that will help you to plan your own writing:

1) Find key vocabulary

2) Make a plan

3) Write a draft

4) Write your story on a paper for your teacher.

3) Write a draft:

Get any paper and start writing your ideas. This paper will help you to organise what you want to write, change your ideas, cross them out.... etc.

Stories are written in past and you have to give fluency to your text using link words or expressions as: first, second, one day, next, later, and, also, finally, at the end... and so on.

Check the spelling and the grammar when you finish!

4) Write your story for your teacher:

Once you feel confident about your story, rewrite in a clean paper.

HAVE A NICE DAY!!

Hi everyone!

Here are some links to help you practice for the English test. You don't have to send me anything. They are to practice what was seen in topic 1.

Remember! One way to learn English grammar is using a pencil and paper to:

- Copy as many times as you need the most difficult vocabulary words to fix the spelling.

- Practice the grammar structures of unit 1 on a draft sheet, paying attention to what you have in the notebook or the book.

- Ask questions to the teacher.

Aqui dejo unos enlaces para ayudaros a practicar para el examen de ingles. No ten茅is que enviarme nada. Son para practicar lo visto en el tema 1.

Recordad: una forma de aprender gram谩tica en ingl茅s es con l谩piz y papel.

- Copiad las veces que necesit茅is las palabras de vocabulario m谩s dif铆ciles para fijar la ortograf铆a.

- Practicad las estructuras de gram谩tica de la unidad 1 en hoja de borrador fij谩ndoos en lo que ten茅is en el cuaderno o el libro.

- Preguntad dudas a la profe.

ARTS:
In this subject we are going to do something related with Art in the Modern Age.
In the presentations you watched last week, you saw two different artistic styles that took place during that period of time: The Renaissance and the Baroque.

Teacher Susana (Arts teacher in group C) and I want you:
1st) To look in the internet for a painting or a sculpture that belongs to any of those artistic styles.
2nd) Print it at home.
3rd) Write on a piece of paper the artist’s name, title of the art piece and what does it represent.

Example:

Author: El Greco.
Style: Renaissance.
Title: The burial of Count Orgaz (“El entierro del Conde Orgaz”)

This painting represents how Count Orgaz is being buried after his death. Around him there are priests, friends and family members. At the top you can see the paradise with famous characters of the Bible as the Virgin Mary, Jesuschrist, angels and saints.
They are as if waiting for the arrival of the count to paradise.

Group C students will bring the printing and the information on Wednesday 20th because your Arts class with Susana is that day. Students from groups A and B will bring it on Thursday 21st.

In茅s, Marcos, Marta: Painting, Renaissance.

Jose, Mario: Sculpture, Renaissance.

Aitor, Jasmin: Painting, Baroque.

Sandra, Ismael, Fio: Sculpture, Baroque.

 Friday, 15th January 2021

Good morning. It’s Friday!

And here is the Cibeles fountain. A fountain loved by fans of the Real Madrid. Cibeles is the Greek goddess of agriculture, of the fertility of the earth. I hope she helps the farmers because they are having a lot of snow problems.

NATURAL SCIENCE

I attach two pictures below to understand better the process of digestion of food.

Foods and liquids that we have,  have different textures and types of hardness. In order for our body to absorb the necessary nutrients to live, food is crushed at three different times in our digestive system:

- The first moment is in the mouth when the teeth cut and crush the food forming the "bolus".

- The second moment is in the stomach. Gastric juices further undo the bolus to facilitate the digestion of this porridge (papilla) through the intestines. Thus the bolus becomes a mush (papilla)called “chyme”.

- In the intestines the chyme is crushed for the last time by intestinal juices and the bilis to facilitate the absorption of nutrients by the blood through the intestinal walls. This last super porridge is called“chyle”.

What is not absorbed into the blood because it is useless is eliminated through the anus. That material is called faeces.

- Now read pages 14 and 15:

- Use the information above to complete these activities:

ARTS
Click on the following link about the second part of art in the Modern Age: The Baroque or Barroco.

- Answer the following questions. WE WILL CORRECT THEM IN CLASS NEXT WEEK, SO YOU DON’T NEED TO SEND THEM.

1. Write one or two differences you can remember between the Renaissance art and the Baroque.
2. Name the special technique painters used in their paintings.
3. Why is the Baroque called “the century of lights in arts and literature?
4. What’s the difference between Renaissance sulfures and the Baroque ones?
5. Difference between the Baroque facades in buildings and the Renaissance ones.
6. Name four famous writers from the Baroque.
7. Why do you think the female Baroque writers are not famous as male?

HAVE A VERY GOOD WEEKEND GUYS!
