In activity 9 the answer is 29th of November because you have to start counting since 2nd November. The menstrual cycle starts form the very first day of the menstruation or the “sangrado”. So to Know  when the next menstruation will start you have to start counting from the day the last menstruation started.

2) Today I want to start the last part of the unit. But I find necessary you review what you have seen till now in the following order:

Pages 36, 39, 37, 38 and 40.

So till the moment you have seen what is the main purpose of human reproduction, what is puberty, how do boys and girls body change, the parts of the male/female system and the menstruation.

Now it’s time to see how the human reproduction works in these stages:

Fertilization (fecundación)       Pregnancy (embarazo)        Birth (parto o nacimiento)

Here you are a video in Spanish:

Now answer the following questions in English:
a) What is fertilization?
b) What is a zygote?
c) What is an embryo?
d) After two months an embryo transforms into a ...
e) What is the umbilical cord job?
f) When is a baby born?
e) What is the belly button? Do you have one? Why?
Answers tomorrow 😉

TUESDAY, 19th MAY 2020

Hello everybody!
Ready to start this Tuesday?
Yeeeeees! 💪🏻
Come on! Cheer up! (Two phrasal verbs 😉)

Today Brandon will be online for you to solve your questions about anything: Modal verbs for deduction/probability, present perfect continuous, the second part in the Ket or Pet speaking test, your personal strong and weak points you have in your speaking, whatever!

A super good question for him could be: What grammar do I have to use in parts 2 and 3 in Ket/pet speaking test?
For example: Modal verbs for deduction are good for part 2 and any other activity where you have to interpret a picture or what someone is doing.

If you want to talk with him click on the links below at 11:00 or 12:30. It is voluntary! He’s in the other side of the screen to help you.

2) Today in Natural we are going to see an important event that occurs in girls during the puberty: THE MENSTRUATION.

The menstruation (la menstruación o periodo) starts usually at the age of 12 years old. But this is just an average age because it can start even earlier or later. Every girl has her own “body calendar”. For example some gymnasts start their first menstruation at the age of 16 years old. And that “female body calendar” can be also different in the area of the world a girl lives. In some countries in the south hemisphere, girls can have their first menstruation at the age of 8.

The beginning of the menstruation in girls is one of the changes from being a little girl to a woman and it’s something that both girls and boys have to know as part of their sexual education.
Here I post two videos (one in English and another one in Spanish), you will also read one page on your book about it and I finally will suggest you interesting books about the menstruation.

There are hundreds of videos in the internet about the menstruation but I find that they use to be for girls essentially. That’s good. Ok. But I find that these videos should be also aimed for boys because the menstruation doesn’t have to be just a girl matter.
It’s something as natural as beard growth in boys. As I said before, to know about menstruation forms part of boys and girls education.

La menstruación en español:

2) Read pages 40 and 41 on your Natural book.

3) Interesting books about menstruation:
